Sarah’s Tips & Variations
Cut Swap: You can use ANY pork chop cut you want for this recipe; thick, thin, center cut, or boneless pork chops. Pork Loin even works well.
Best Apple Choice: Gala apples are my second choice for this recipe. They are firm and hold up well to the cooking time.
Apple Butter Swap: If you’d like to swap this out, you can use applesauce (which is where this recipe originated) or even try pumpkin butter.
Adding Additional Flavors: Add mustard for more tang and to cut down the sweetness. Worcestershire sauce is a great choice for doing that as well.
How to Store and Reheat
Place any remaining pork chops in an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 4 days. The leftovers make a nice quick meal the next day and can easily be reheated over medium heat until warmed throughout.

Hello. Can distilled white vinegar be used instead? Or could the vinegar just be left out entirely?
That would work fine!
This recipe was scrumptious! My changes: Oak City Spice Blends Viking Salt for salt & pepper, omitted onion, 15 oz. applesauce for apples, balsamic vinegar for apple cider vinegar, added 2 tbsp prepared mustard. Anything omitted or substituted for something else was because I didn’t have that item in the pantry. I’ll cut back on the applesauce next time.
Great adaptions, sounds great.
Excellent. Will use boneless and tenderize the chops myself and use a bigger pot than my 4 qt. Will add more apples and cook on low instead of high. Low seems to make it less dry. It was delicious…
Super easy and delicious!
