How to make Olive Garden Chicken Pasta in the Crockpot:
- Add chicken breasts to the slow cooker.
- Pour over one 16-ounce jar of Olive Garden Italian Dressing (or any Italian dressing you have on hand.
- Shake over grated parmesan cheese and ground pepper. Add one block of cream cheese.
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or low for 5-6.
- Shred the chicken with two forks right in the slow cooker.
- Cook 16 ounces of pasta according to the package directions on the stove-top. I am using penne pasta for this recipe.
- Add the drained pasta to the slow cooker along with the sauce and shredded chicken, stir.
- Sprinkle over more parmesan cheese if desired. I also garnished with a touch of oregano and black pepper.
Can I serve this chicken with something other than pasta?
- Serve over rice.
- Or with steamed vegetables.
Must I use cream cheese?
You can leave it out or add a cup of heavy cream at the end of cooking time is desired. Though the sauce will be thinner.
Does this taste like chicken alfredo?
This Olive Garden Chicken Pasta is thick and creamy like alfredo but has a zesty Italian dressing flavor

If you sample it as soon as it is cooked it does seem salty but that is toned down when I added the penne pasta. My husband and I think this is delicious and I followed the recipe. I have added it to my meal rotation.
Honestly Iโm surprised there are any bad ratings – my family, and especially my 10 month old, loves it! Weโre even making it for his first birthday party because he loves it so much. Part of our regular meal rotation.
Terrible. The cream cheese curdled and the entire crockpot of chicken and sauce became inedible. Thank god I checked it before adding the pasta
The cream cheese was clumpy at first but after I took out to the chicken to shred it, I used my hand held emulsifier blender and the cheese mixed in nicely and made the sauce creamy.
Sorry but my mother and I hated the lemon taste that came with it. It is so strong. Maybe half the amount of Olive Garden Dressing. Large waste of food.
Too salty. I will try adding Alfredo sauce and see if it’s edible.
way too Salty! And greasy.
Excellent! A big hit. I used 2/3 of the dressing they recommend.
I added 2/3 cup of chicken broth. I used sour cream instead of cream cheese. Delicious and delightful
I was drawn to this recipe because it is GF. However, it was completely inedible.
When I first tasted it the only thing I could taste was dressing. So I tried adding cream of chicken soup and cream (per some other recipes online), but even that didn’t help.
It’s also a bit expensive.
Our family couldn’t eat it. Alot of money went down my garbage disposal tonight.
Bad bad bad. The Olive Garden dressing is way too strong. We can even eat is. There has to be somthing better to use. Never make it again.
This is so easy and delicious. My adult sons love this recipe. I make it a couple times a month for my family. I add some chopped onion. Sometime I add extra chicken and it is still good. I also made it a couple times for a meal train and every time the family lets me know they loved it and they ask for the recipe.
