Yes! This crock pot brownie recipe is handy when you want to skip the oven but still make a tasty dessert. The prep time is quick, thanks to only needing a few ingredients. And the cooking time is quick enough to get a few things done before serving this yummy treat!
These brownies are also super versatile and can be topped or have things added to take this sweet treat to a whole new level. Let’s get cooking!
Recipe Ingredients
- Brownie Mix: I suggest Pillsbury chocolate fudge brownie mix. However, you can use whatever brand you prefer.
- Brownie Mix Ingredients: The boxed brownie mix requires mixing cooking oil, two large eggs, and water. If you use a different brand of brownie mix, use the ingredients stated on the box.
Substitution and Variations
Melted butter can be used instead of oil. Applesauce can be used instead of oil or butter, but the consistency of the brownies will not be the same.
Vanilla extract can be used for added flavor.
Mix-ins, such as walnuts, pecans, chocolate chips, or heath bar bits, can be added to the brownie batter.
Step-by-Step Directions
Step One – In a large bowl add the brownie mix, oil, water and eggs.
Step Two – Mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until smooth. No need to get all the lumps out.
Step Three – Spread the brownie batter in the slow cooker that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Step Four – Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours or until the brownies are set in the middle; every slow cooker cooks slightly differently. Serve and enjoy!
