Hi there ,
I’m making this today.! However I would not use the seasoning package that came with the beans.
Once I read the ingredients.
I threw it in the trash
Can’t wait to see how this turns out
I did a no meat added veggies I had in the fridge
I did add better than bouillon beef base
Why no potatoes?
You could add potatoes if you want. I’ve never added potatoes to bean soup before, but it may be good!
First time making this vegetarian dish. We enjoyed it and liked the corn and thought corn would work well in the buffalo chicken slow cooker meal. Next time we will add something to make it spicy. I do find soaking the beans overnight soften them up more than just 6 hours on high.
Do you soak the beans overnight? We are having a debate regarding this. (Will come back and rate after we make the chili tomorrow.)
I do not for these. The slow cooker does great on high cooking these.
I’ve always had a disaster in many hours disappointment when I haven’t soaked the beans first!!!
Honey I’m from Louisiana, 5th generation Cajun. We DO NOT put corn in beans. That’s like putting corn in GUMBO. SOUTHERN DON’T. That includes tomatoes. I use your recipes all the time.. This one no.
I live in the Northwest. LOL no worries, no pressure to use the corn.
I love the corn in the soup and I am from South Carolina. Making it again today
What sounds to be a delicious soup, especially during our cold winters here in Canada.
We donโt have the bean soup mix here but is it possible to mix the beans to make our own version of the package!! I can already smell it lol
Have a wonderful day
Germaine
I don’t see why not! They do have online ordering though. I order a couple different varieties when I do order.
Love bean soup, so healthy! Thanks for this recipe.
