How to make Olive Garden Chicken Pasta in the Crockpot:
- Add chicken breasts to the slow cooker.
- Pour over one 16-ounce jar of Olive Garden Italian Dressing (or any Italian dressing you have on hand.
- Shake over grated parmesan cheese and ground pepper. Add one block of cream cheese.
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or low for 5-6.
- Shred the chicken with two forks right in the slow cooker.
- Cook 16 ounces of pasta according to the package directions on the stove-top. I am using penne pasta for this recipe.
- Add the drained pasta to the slow cooker along with the sauce and shredded chicken, stir.
- Sprinkle over more parmesan cheese if desired. I also garnished with a touch of oregano and black pepper.
Can I serve this chicken with something other than pasta?
- Serve over rice.
- Or with steamed vegetables.
Must I use cream cheese?
You can leave it out or add a cup of heavy cream at the end of cooking time is desired. Though the sauce will be thinner.
Does this taste like chicken alfredo?
This Olive Garden Chicken Pasta is thick and creamy like alfredo but has a zesty Italian dressing flavor

Smelled amazing while cooking but was not very tasty. Had an odd flavor. Will not make again.
Made just as directed. Tasted too salty, was very thick, wonโt be making again.
I made this with a few adjustments. I added a bunch of seasonings: garlic powder, ranch seasoning, seasoning salt, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, etc. It needed the extra seasoning. I wish I wouldโve seared the chicken prior to putting in the slow cooker for more depth of flavor. I also added some shredded mozzarella cheese to thicken it all at the end before adding the noodles. Overall I like this recipe, but it needs some extra flavor additions in my opinion.
Chicken breasts soaked up a lot of the liquid and got pretty mushy after 3 hours. The sauce is very strong if using Olive Garden Dressing. I strained the chicken out and added half and half to the liquid and it was realkt good. I didnt like that the chicken was so mushy, I would cook seperately and then slice or cube it into the sauce.
I used 2#s of chicken and followed the recipe as described. I served it with garlic bread but a salad would have been good. It’s a little strong but it’s very good. I wonder if I really need cream cheese. Has anyone skipped the cream cheese?
I enjoyed this. I was hesitant to try because of the mixed reviews. To be on the safe side, I only used half of the Italian dressing. I also threw in some chopped zucchini, added some chicken broth and a bit of heavy cream based on the other reviews I read. It turned out pretty delicious to me, was excited to eat the leftovers the next day.
Always a killer comfort food ,,those who have nothing nice to say should learn some etiquette and say nothing at all
Sorry I wish I had read the reviews before I tried this. It did not taste like Olive Garden dish.very disappointed
Really surprised to see several negative reviews. Even the pickiest eaters in my family will eat this one. We love it!
Mine turned out watery, no taste very disappointed. Something is missing in this
