Can I serve this chicken with something other than pasta?

  • Serve over rice.
  • Or with steamed vegetables.

Must I use cream cheese?

You can leave it out or add a cup of heavy cream at the end of cooking time is desired. Though the sauce will be thinner.

Does this taste like chicken alfredo?

This Olive Garden Chicken Pasta is thick and creamy like alfredo but has a zesty Italian dressing flavor

My family didn’t like it. I guess I have a house of picky eaters if everyone else seemed to like it. Might be changing it up and trying again though.

It was too “Zesty” for our taste.
I like the concept, but just not for our pallet.

  2. Cindy says:

I have made this recipe at least a dozen times. The Italian dressing is too vinegary so I add some sugar and Italian seasoning. I double the recipe and freeze in one serving containers for extra meals on the flash.

      Yes, it freezes well.

Made this tonight. I love so much about this recipe, but the Olive Garden dressing just made it too sugary sweet. Any tips for a different brand of Italian dressing or a switchout with a different ingredient for the liquid? I hate wasting food but I’ll have to wash the sauce off and do something else with the chicken. Luckily I kept the pasta separate as someone suggested above.

I thought the recipe was very tasty. I could not find Olive Garden dressing in our grocery store so I used the off brand dressing from Aldi’s.

I’ve made this before and love it! But do you think substituting thighs for the breasts would be good as well?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

      I think so!

So yummy. I felt it got even tastier after being in the fridge a day or two. Super easy to make, especially with my Level 0 cooking skills. Does anyone know how many WW points a serving would be??

      Same

    2. Kathryn Woodson says:

Same, all I could taste was the dressing. Even Frankensteining it with more dairy didn’t work.

Like others have mentioned, the vinegary dressing is way too overpowering. I wouldn’t make it again.
