Slow Cooker Chicken Marsala is a chicken dish cooked in a mushroom wine sauce with decadent cream added right before serving. Wonderful over mashed potatoes.

Crockpot Chicken Marsala is the perfect way to enjoy a restaurant-style dish without all the fuss. The chicken turns out incredibly tender, soaking up the rich flavors of mushrooms, garlic, bacon, and Marsala wine. Marsala wine is fortified with brandy or a neutral grape spirit and the main component of this dish.
Easy chicken recipes are a staple in our house, when we aren’t making this meal we love Crack Chicken or Mississippi Chicken.

This recipe brings together simple yet flavorful ingredients. It starts with chicken breasts seasoned with salt, pepper, and oregano, then layered with garlic, shallots, sliced onion, and mushrooms for a rich, savory base. Crispy cooked bacon adds a smoky touch, while Marsala wine and beef broth create a deep, flavorful sauce. Just before serving, a splash of heavy cream adds a smooth, creamy finish that ties everything together.

Tried exactly as written. The chicken was very tender, but It was SO bland. I also think a whole onion, especially combined with the shallot, was way too much. Sorry to say I will not be making this recipe again.
This recipe was a good base, however I agree it needed more flavor and the sauce needed thickened. I think searing the chicken first would help. I took the liquid out after cooking and added cornstarch to thicken and put it back in the crock pot. I also pulled the chicken and it helped absorb more moisture.
This was delicious! Used cornstarch to thicken the sauce as other suggested. The flavor was perfect. Very easy to customize to your taste. And so easy! FYI I always use chicken thighs.
Looks great but could I use chicken thighs?
Yes, thighs will work great.
Very easy recipe! Excellent flavor, but the sauce was lacking in thickness. Other recipes typically call for flourโฆ. Wondering if that wouldโve helped? I wasnโt brave enough to try! Maybe next time!
I was initially excited when I found this recipe, but what a disappointment! The liquid never got any thicker, and the flavor was only marginally “marsala-like.”
In the video the gravy looks very watery. Do you think some corn starch or flour stirred into the cream would help make it thicker.
Yes, you can do either. ๐
Looks wonderful, Sarah! Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for another great recipe!โฅ๏ธ
Can this recipe be cut in half?
Yes, it should do fine!
