Add the garlic, shallot, onion and mushrooms over the chicken.
Sprinkle over the bacon.
Pour over the Marsala wine and beef broth.
Place the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 6-8.
When the cooking time is done. Add the heavy cream and mix it into the broth.
Turn the slow cooker to HIGH for 30 minutes more and leave the LID OFF. To help thicken the sauce a bit.
Serve and enjoy! I serve half of a chicken breast for a serving. Alternately you can shred the chicken before serving.

Does the alcohol cook out of the sauce?Since the slow cooker doesn't get to a high heat, some of the alcohol may remain. Don't serve this dish to children or adults who don't drink alcohol. Want a thicker sauce?Mix together a cornstarch slurry (2 tablespoons cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water). Add to the finished dish and cook for 20 more minutes or until thickened.Why Beef Broth in Chicken Marsala?Beef broth adds a richer flavor than chicken. But of course you can use chicken if you prefer.
