This is one of my favorite creations of mine! Crockpot Teriyaki beef has great flavor and is a cinch to throw in the crockpot. When I don’t know what to cook and life seems overwhelming, this is my go-to recipe.

We love quick and easy Asian-inspired recipes for the slow cooker. It’s cheaper and healthier than take-out. My other favorites are Slow Cooker Pepper Steak, Black Pepper Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, or Teriyaki Chicken.

Key Ingredients

Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki – This teriyaki has an authentic taste and isn’t sticky and gloppy like others. We use this SAME sauce in our popular Crock Pot Chicken Teriyaki Thighs.

Beef Stew Meat – You can find this already cut up at the store or you can cut a beef roast into cubes yourself

Diced white onion – This adds more flavor to the dish and makes the house smell great while cooking.

  1. Add the beef, teriyaki sauce, and onion to the crockpot.
  2. Cook until the beef is tender and coated in rich sauce.

Tips & Variations

Cut Swap: Can’t find beef stew meat? You can cut a chuck roast or use a bulk pack of sirloin.

Add Veggies: Add water chestnuts, broccoli or sugar snap peas 45 minutes before the cooking time is done.

Add a touch of heat: Add a 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.

Other Teriyaki: You can use any teriyaki you want for this recipe – I do love the brand mentioned above, but feel free to make this your own.

Want thicker sauce? Remove the lid for the last 30 minutes or stir in a small cornstarch slurry.

Best Ways to Serve

Starch: Crock pot teriyaki beef is delicious served over a bed of white rice. You can also swap for brown rice, Jasmine rice, or cauliflower rice.

Green Side: Serve this tasty beef alongside a helping of edamame, snap peas, broccoli, or a veggie combo.

Toppings: the teriyaki beef with sesame seeds and sliced green onion.

Should the Meat be Browned on the Stove-Top?

There is no need to brown the meat first. The meat cooks up perfectly in the slow cooker and soaks up all that good teriyaki sauce.

Can I cook this low for 6-8 hours?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Yes! I think 6 hours on low would be the longest I would try

  2. Kathy says:

Hi Sarah, could I add a little cornstarch to thicken sauce?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

      Yes! It won’t need much.

  3. Cristina says:

Can I add frozen steamed broccoli to the crook pot or do I have to heat it up in the microwave?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Hi Cristina, you can but for prettier presentation I’d steam it in the microwave. Broccoli turns an ugly color in the slow cooker.

  4. Dawn Inscoe says:

Should the teriyaki sauce cover the beef?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

No, the beef will create more juices while it cooks.

  5. Rae says:

Do you add any water? Or stock?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

      Nope!

I found soy sauce at PUBLIX….thanks for the videos❤️

  6. Shannon says:

I can’t find the soy teriyaki sauce you use can I use VH Teriyaki sauce

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Hi Shannon, you would have to do your own test on it. I am unsure if that teriyaki sauce is thick and sugary, there may be a little bit of burning on the edges.

  7. Audrey Beauchemin says:

For your already prepared freezer meals, do you throw everything in the slow cooker “from frozen”? Or do you thaw it out first?

Can’t wait to try this!! Thank you!

    1. Sarah Olson says:

I always thaw first. Some times it’s still a little frosty.

  8. Laura says:

When doubling the ingredients what do you set the slow cooker at?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

I would do the same as the recipe says, should do fine.

  9. MrsSW says:

Sarah – is that sesame seeds sprinkled on top?

    Sheila

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Yes, I used jarred toasted sesame seeds. I will add that to the recipe. Thank you!
