How to make Crockpot Dr. Pepper Baked Beans

  1. Add the canned beans, bacon (cooked or uncooked), onion, barbecue sauce, and mustard to the slow cooker.
  2. Pour in the Dr. Pepper. Stir.
  3. Cook on low for 5-6 hours.

Variations

Baked beans are easy to change up, here are great ideas to make a quick change:

  • Other sodas: You can use root beer, coca-cola, or ginger ale instead of Dr. Pepper. You can even use Diet Dr. Pepper.
  • Make this meatier by adding one pound of cooked ground beef.
  • For spice, add jalapenos or a pinch of red peppers.

My Recipe Tips

  • Cook and crumble the bacon for more flavor in the beans.
  • Use a quality barbecue sauce such as Sweet Baby Rays.
  • Let the baked beans cook for the allotted time, they do need time for the flavors to meld together.

These were so good! I have had Dr. Pepper beans in a can before and wasnโ€™t a fan. But these were great.
