Slow Cooker Alpine Pork Chops is a take on my Alpine Chicken recipe, it’s a comforting classic casserole.

Today I’m sharing my recipe for Slow Cooker Alpine Pork Chops. This recipe is a spin off from my recipe Slow Cooker Alpine Chicken but with pork instead. It’s a recipe I got from a friend named Kelliss. I haven’t found her exact recipe online which is rare nowadays. Though I found this interesting version of alpine chicken that has mayonnaise in it, I love that they made their own stuffing and add fresh veggies, that recipe looks worth trying too.
My favorite thing about this recipe is the crunchy almonds. Very rare a slow cooker recipe has great texture like this one. Stay tuned I may be adding almonds and other nuts to more recipes!
How to make Alpine Pork Chops:
To start this recipe I start with my 6-quart oval slow cooker. I add boneless pork chops to the slow cooker, though bone-in works great too.

Next I add 8 slices of swiss cheese. I’m not a huge swiss cheese fan but in this recipe it melts into the next step, you’ll see and makes for a wonderful sauce.

The next layer is cream of chicken soup, milk and pepper. Very simple to mix together. This is the liquid for this recipe.

Next for the crunchy almonds. Note in this step that only half of the almonds go down. My friend Kellis does it this way and it’s a great crunchy layer.

The next photos is three more layers: stove top stuffing, butter and the rest of the almonds. The butter helps moisten the stuffing. I love using stove-top stuffing in recipes in the slow cooker, makes great casseroles. Cook this for 6 hours on low.

Here is what the casserole looks like after cooking for 6 hours. The edges get a little toasty and the cheesy creamy sauce forms.

This recipe for Slow Cooker Alpine Pork is very comforting and a complete meal, just needs some greens on the side.

I wasn’t sure how the pork would turn out in this dish, but the flavors were great. These pork chops turn out very tender and go great with the sauce, stuffing and almonds. This is a great dish to make for company or as a meal to bring to a family who needs help with dinner. I hope you enjoy this recipe. Have a great week.

Can I cook on high instead?
Yes, should do fine. 3 hours would be about right.
I made this recipe today and it turned out very good to excellent. With just two of us to cook for, I made it in my 3.5 qt slow cooker, used less of the stove top stuffing, but all of the nuts and sauce called for in the full instructions. However, I will double the sauce next time as it was very good on the meat and up into the stuffing. The top of the dressing did not brown nicely, so I may not have used as much melted butter as I should. Nevertheless the chops were tender and tasty.
It was delish!! Didn’t use nuts and didn’t have Swiss cheese so I used extra strong cheddar. Very simple and delish … did I say it was delish? Oh, yes! It’s delish!
Could you make this recipe in a pressure cooker and how long would it take?
Looks delish, but my family doesn’t eat nuts, what can I substitute for the almonds?
I think it would be fine without the nuts, I can’t think of a good substitute.
Hi Karen,
I have just made this recipe and turned out as a new favourite. As for substituting almonds I have two ideas depending on your taste:
1. raisins and cranberries
2. seed mix (pumpkin, sunflower, chia, pine nut)
Me actually added both on top of the almonds :))
Thanks Sarah for the recipe!
Thank you SO much for the tips, great ideas.
did you premix the stuffing or use it dry?
dry 🙂
Would this taste awesome without the nuts? I’m not an almond or pecan person. Lol.
I think it would be fine without the nuts.
This looks SO good , only thing I would like to change is the stuffing, I’m gluten sensitive & was wondering what I could sub in for the stuffing that would work? Ty truly appreciate ANY recommendations
Hi Sarah – This has nothing to do with this delicious looking recipe, but I suddenly find myself having to make my husband heart heathy meals. Do you have any heart healthy slow cooker recipes? I love using my slow cooker! – Pam
I’m allergic to all nuts what would you suggest as an alternative
Just wondering if I am the only one who noticed that the recipe is titled Alpine Chicken. :-/ But it’s pork chops.
Thank you for letting me know!!! I had chicken on the brain. I fixed it.
