No need to agree on one flavor for this Slow Cooker His and Hers Cobbler! There are two types of filling in this cobbler!

Who doesn’t love a warm dessert like this cobbler, German chocolate spoon cake, Peach Cobbler, or even scalloped apples.

Slow Cooker His and Hers Cobbler

I found this idea from one of my vintage cookbooks. I think it was Betty Crocker’s cooking for two recipe book. His and Hers Cobbler is the perfect dessert when you can’t choose between apple and cherry—this recipe gives you both in one dish! It’s easy to put together with canned pie filling, a simple cake mix topping, and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar for extra sweetness. Whether you’re serving a crowd or just want a fun twist on a classic cobbler, this dessert is warm, fruity, and always a hit.

Choose your filling:

You can choose just about any pie filling can in the 21-ounce range, choose two of these variations:

  • Peach
  • Apple
  • Cherry
  • Blueberry
  • Strawberry
  • Raspberry or blackberry

How to make a cobbler topping with Jiffy Cake Mix:

  • Use melted butter instead of water (1/2 cup).
  • Add an egg.
  • Add a teaspoon of vanilla.
  • Mix until just blended and spread over fruit filling in the slow cooker.
  • Make a mixture of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over the cake mix before cooking.

Best Ways to Serve

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to balance the sweetness of both fruit fillings.

Add a dollop of whipped cream for a light, creamy topping.

Pair with a hot cup of coffee or tea for a cozy dessert experience.

How to Video

Ingredients

  • 21 oz. can apple pie filling
  • 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 9 oz. box Jiffy yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • dash of salt

For topping:

  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  • Open both cans of filling, I’ve had more luck by adding the apple first since it’s thicker to one side of the slow cooker. Add the cherry pie filing next.
  • In a medium-sized bowl mix together the cake mix, melted butter, egg, vanilla and salt. I add this on top of the pie fillings by spoonfuls, then I spread it out evenly.
  • In a small bowl mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle over the cobbler.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes.  Keep the lid on the entire cooking time. The cobbler will be done when the center is set.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Sarah’s Notes

Other pie filling options other than apple and cherry (use 21-ounce cans of PIE FILLING not fruit in thin juices):
  • Blueberry
  • Raspberry or blackberry
  • Strawberry
  • Peach

Jiffy cake mix comes in a small box, they sell many different mixes. They are perfect for 1 or 2 people. I’ve never seen a store that didn’t sell it, unless its a small one. If you use a regular size Cake mix put half of the cake in a round cake pan and the rest on the top of pie filling. Your guests will have 3 choices.

None of my local stores have the jiffy yellow cake mix so i bought yellow cake mix from another brand…. do you think it will still turn out okay??

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Jiffy is about half the size of regular cake mix, I don’t know how it would turn out, sorry!!

      1. Anonymous says:

I have the same problem w/no Jiffy cake mix,..so if you were to use another yellow cake mix which is double the size,…couldn’t you just double the size of the other ingredients,..2 cans of the pie filling instead of one,..I’m new @ the whole baking in the slow cooker thing so just wondering if this would work….Thanks

    2. denise Budy says:

Just measure out 9 oz of the cake mix.

    3. Martha Douds says:

I thought about regular cake mix as I too, having trouble finding Jiffy CAKE mix, and using 1 C butter, be silent coronary arteries, and putting half on the first layer of pie filling, then repeating layers. No clue if it would work out or what that would do to cooking times.

  8. Grandma Kc says:

What a great idea! I think it would be cherry and peach for us!

    1. Carolyn says:

      I will use peach also.

      1. flhayes says:

  9. Carrie @Frugal Foodie Mama says:

Oh my gosh! This is genius! ๐Ÿ™‚ I also think it would be great for entertaining guests since you could give them 2 choices for dessert for the same amount of work.
