What are some stuffing mix-ins?
Add one or more of these options below to make your stuffing extra special. (Add when the stuffing is done).
- Ground sausage: Cook and crumble a 1/2 pound of ground sausage for each box of stuffing.
- Vegetables: Sauté carrots, onion, and celery for additional flavor.
- Dried cranberries: Add 1/4 cup for each box of stuffing for a festive touch.
- Apples: Dice 1 apple per box of stuffing for a sweet crunch.
How long can I keep this on the warm setting?
- Cooked stuffing will keep on the warm setting for 3 hours but will need some babysitting.

Thank you!!
I made this at school for a Friendsgiving with coworkers. It came out perfect and my classroom smelled wonderful!
Mine was too mushy
Can’t wait to try this!
Can I add a little sour cream to this recipe to keep it moist
Yes, that will work great.
Are steps 2 & 3 mixed up?
No, you don’t want to add your stuffing until the other stuff is hot. Will be less mushy that way.
Very good but chicken was a bit dry
For the last 10 years I have made Stove Top in a very flavourful and easy manner. Instead of water use a can of chicken or beef broth along with the butter. This improves the flavour greatly. I am sure you could do this in the slow cooker or crockpot! Thanks for the great tip
Awesome Idea I must try! Thanks for the tip
I have low or high setting – how long on the low setting?
Most likely 2.5 hours on low.
Most of your recipes are wonderful!!
Can I make this with canned oysters?
I don’t see why not, just make sure the oysters are cooked before serving.
