Hi again! I have this month’s Freezer Slow Cooker meal of the month. This Slow Cooker Orange Chicken Drumsticks has the flavors of take-out but costs much less!
I start with orange marmalade, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, fresh garlic and fresh ginger. If you have never used fresh ginger in a recipe (it’s the beige root that is pictured below) don’t worry, it’s so easy to peel and mince ginger. Ginger root is very cheap, but you don’t need to waste the excess, I often put the ginger root in a ziplock bag and freeze it for later.
You can put this into a freezer bag for later in the month, or put it directly into the slow cooker.
I served this with steamed brown rice and sugar snap peas.
Did you have a great holiday? I did, but I am glad to be back to my routine. I should have another recipe for you up on the blog of Friday. Have a great week!

- 2 tsp. soy sauce

- In a small bowl add the marmalade, soy sauce, red pepper flake, ginger root and garlic. Stir until smooth. Add the chicken and onion to the slow cooker. Pour over the sauce.

Freezer Meal Instructions:

Flavorless, I don’t know what it missing but it’s missing. My family that eats anything did not eat this.
I didn’t have orange marmalade, but substituted some red sweet pepper jelly that I got as a gift and added orange juice. I added chunky red peppers and carrots. The family loved it!
Watery and bland despite following the recipe exactly.
This has become a favorite. Easy & sooo tasty
This was a Great, choice fora dinner! meal
