This recipe is a copy of an older recipe I have, which I used pork instead of chicken. This week I have been pressed for time and wanted an easy barbecue chicken recipe, and a favorite older barbecue recipe came to mind. The flavors of this blend go so well together.

chicken tenders, green and yellow bell peppers, onion, barbecue sauce, and seasonings.

Key Ingredients

Chicken tenderloins: cook up tender and soak in all the barbecue flavor.

Bell peppers and onion: sliced and slow cooked until soft, they add sweetness and balance to the tangy sauce.

Barbecue sauce blend: your favorite BBQ sauce mixed with Worcestershire and soy for a smoky, savory, slightly tangy flavor.

Red pepper flakes: just a pinch for a touch of heat (add more if you like it spicy).

This recipe has the wrong time to cook in slow cooker.I made it and after 3 hours in crockpot it was overcooked.I used chicken tenders as the recipe calls for.Not recommended .

    1. Sarah Olson says:

The longer you cook things the more tender it gets. You probably didn’t cook long enough. The slow cooker barely gets hot at 1.5 hours.

Should anything be adjusted if using 2# boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead?

I added broccoli and mushrooms- a bit extra bbq sauce, worcestershire, and soy sauce to make up for the extra veggies. It turned out amazing, I’m in love with this recipe. It will be a new staple for sure. Thank you!
