Why you should try Kielbasa and beans
When you’re looking for a delicious recipe that doubles as a hearty dish and an addition to the perfect weeknight meal, this is the one to try. The prep is minimal and the cooking time is moderate. Not to mention, it’s a versatile dish that can be eaten by itself or paired with something else. This is a crockpot meal worth adding to your meal plan ASAP!
Recipe Ingredients
- Kielbasa: Originating in Poland – hence the more common name, Polish sausage – kielbasa is a u-shaped smoked sausage of any kind of meat.
- Ranch Style Beans: This is a brand of baked beans that has its own unique blend of spices. It has a flavor similar to chili. You will keep the juice from the cans.
- Worcestershire Sauce: This sauce is added to most recipes to help add a deep flavor and cut through any sweetness.
- Brown Sugar: Adds just the right amount of sweetness without being overbearing.
- Onion: Sweet yellow onion is the onion of choice. It doesn’t add much heat more than a nice sweet flavor.
- Jalapeno: Diced (or minced) jalapeno will add a nice level of heat. If you want it hotter, include the seeds.
Step-by-Step Directions
Step One – Add all of the ingredients to the crock pot. Make sure the onion is diced, the jalapeno minced, and the kielbasa chopped into half-inch slices.
Step Two – Stir everything together until well combined and coated with the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and sauce from the ranch style beans.
Step Three – Cover and cook the bean mixture on LOW for 5 hours. Serve warm and enjoy!
What to serve with this

- It can also be served with a side of rice, sauerkraut, macaroni and cheese, sweet corn on the cob, or a good side salad.
