We love an easy chicken dinner – this Slow Cooker Caesar chicken should be on your meal plan this week! Here is what you will love about it:

  • Has the craveable flavor of Caesar “baked” into the chicken
  • Simple weeknight meal that is easy to toss in the crockpot
  • Great for meal prep, and leftovers are versatile

What you need for Caesar Chicken

Chicken Breasts: You’ll want to use at least 2-3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts.

Caesar Dressing: The star of the show is bottled Caesar dressing – we love Newman’s Own or Kraft. If you want to make your own, we love this homemade Caesar dressing.

Seasonings: Onion powder and lemon pepper seasoning combine to create a finishing flavor touch to the Caesar chicken recipe.

Chicken Broth: Combines with the dressing to create a creamy Caesar sauce.

Parmesan Cheese: Grated parmesan cheese is the classic choice for this.

How to Make Caesar Chicken

  1. Add the chicken to the crockpot and season with lemon pepper and onion powder.
  2. Pour over the Caesar dressing and broth, then top with parmesan cheese.
  3. Cook until tender, then shred the chicken into the creamy sauce.

How to Serve Creamy Caesar Chicken

On a starch – Our favorite way to eat this chicken is on steamed white rice. Other great tasting options are mashed potatoes or egg noodles. Add a vegetable to round out the meal.

Make it healthy: Serve on romaine lettuce with croutons and Parmesan cheese. The easiest way to make a Caesar salad!

Sandwiches – Serve on buns for a quick, no-fuss dinner! Spread butter on the buns and grill them first for more flavor.

Leftovers – Make quesadillas with the leftover meat! Add mozzarella cheese.

Can low-fat or fat-free Caesar dressing be used?

Low-fat dressing can be used to make the chicken, but full-fat Caesar dressing will flavor the chicken breast much better. Choose your favorite dressing that tastes great on lettuce, and you won’t have any issues.

Can I Make this Recipe Low Carb?

Yes, this recipe is naturally lower in carbs. Be sure to use a low-carb dressing, and you will have no issues. Serve the chicken with low-carb vegetables instead of any starches.

How to Store and Reheat

Place in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Be sure to use freezer storage bags or wrap the leftovers in foil before freezing. Reheat in the microwave, but don’t overheat or it will alter the taste.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. chicken breasts, skinless, boneless (can use 2-3 pounds)

  • 1 cup Caesar dressing, (use your favorite brand)
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese , (shredded works fine)

Instructions

  • In the liner of a slow cooker, place the chicken breasts. Sprinkle the lemon pepper and onion powder. Cover the breasts on each side.
  • Add the Caesar dressing and the chicken broth.
  • Sprinkle the grated or shredded parmesan.
  • Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Or low for 6 hours.
  • After the cooking time is up shred the chicken with two forks.
  • Serve and Enjoy!

Sarah’s Notes

Chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts. Be sure to trim the chicken thighs well.
Don’t be tempted to add salt to this dish until after the cooking time is up. The dressing has plenty of salt.
To cook in the oven: Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reads 165 degrees.
