My Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup has so much flavor, with tender chicken, cream, veggies and plenty of basil, you will love this rich version of chicken noodle soup.

If you haven’t tried creamy chicken noodle soup, then this is the perfect recipe to try. I’ve created a perfect crockpot version for you to try. I do have my traditional slow cooker chicken noodle soup that I love, but the cream and extra seasonings take this soup over the top.
Key Ingredients
Chicken Breasts: A few chicken breasts start out in the recipe and shred up nicely after being slow-cooked.
Vegetables: Celery, carrots, and onions – the standards.
Creamy Broth: Chicken broth and heavy cream make the base of the soup.
Seasonings: Thyme, basil, bay leaf, and salt & pepper. This creamy version has more seasonings than regular.
Noodles: I use wide egg noodles for this recipe – they are a classic choice for chicken noodle soup.
Optional Thickener: Cornstarch and cold water if you want to add some thickness
to the soup.

How to Make Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup in the Crockpot
- Cook the chicken with the vegetables, broth, and seasonings.
- Shred the chicken and remove the bay leaves.
- Stir in the cream and cooked noodles, then serve.

Tips & Variations
More Vegetables: Best options for additions are mushrooms, leeks, broccoli or green beans. Add spinach just before serving if desired.
Rice Instead: Add 1 cup of minute brand rice the last 45 minutes instead of adding noodles.
Pasta Shape: Use any shape of pasta you’d like, such as bow-tie, wagon-wheels or ditalini.

Toppings and Sides for Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup
Toppings: We love freshly ground black pepper and parmesan cheese. You can also crunch up saltine crackers or croutons for the toppings.
Sides: Just add some bread, such as cornbread or garlic breadsticks.

Can noodles be cooked in the slow cooker?
No, if you add the egg noodles to the slow cooker they will turn chalky and fall apart. The slow cooker does not get hot enough, fast enough.

Can Rotisserie chicken be used?
Yes, you can add rotisserie chicken (or leftover chicken or turkey) to soup recipes. Add at the beginning of the cooking time so the broth can become more flavorful. You may need to add more broth before serving for there is less liquid in cooked chicken than raw.
