Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 24 oz. chocolate almond bark
  • 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate baking bar, broken into pieces
  • 1 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 24 Rolos, unwrapped
  • sprinkles of choice, (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the chopped pecans, broken chocolate almond bark, chocolate baking bar pieces, and semi-sweet chocolate chips into the slow cooker.
  • Set the slow cooker to low heat. Cover and let the mixture cook for 1 ½ to 2 hours.
  • While the chocolate is melting, line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
  • Arrange the unwrapped Rolos on the sheet, leaving space between each one.
  • Once the chocolate mixture is melted and smooth, give it a gentle stir. Using a spoon, carefully pour the chocolate mixture over each Rolo on the baking sheet, ensuring they are well-covered.
  • Immediately sprinkle your choice of sprinkles over each turtle before the chocolate sets.
  • Let the turtles cool at room temperature for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate firms up. For a quicker set, refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Once set, gently remove the turtles from the parchment paper. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge. Enjoy!

Sarah’s Notes

Avoid lifting the slow cooker lid during the melting process to ensure even heat distribution and prevent the chocolate from seizing.
For a faster setting time, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 minutes after pouring the chocolate over the Rolos.

Instead of Rolos, could I used just soft caramel squares?

  2. Elvera Siegel says:

Are you sure the Rolos should remain UNWRAPPED?

Obviously, unwrapped when you pour the hot chocolate mixture over them.
