What are slow cooker liners?

I often get the question on the blog, “what is that bag in your slow cooker?” it’s a handy dandy
Reynolds Kitchens® Slow Cooker Liner! These liners help you save time and get ahead of your
day, by checking dinner and cleanup off your list.

Reynolds Kitchens® Slow Cooker Liners give you fast and easy clean up and avoid the dreaded
slow cooker soak and scrub. After your store your leftovers, all you need to do is pull out the
liner and discard it. That’s it – fast and easy clean up!

The liners are made from a special BPA-free blend of nylon that is suitable for cooking foods in
slow cookers on high, low or warm settings.

ingredients for herbed pork chops and onion on a table.
  • Reynolds Kitchen® Slow Cooker Liner: Line your slow cooker with a Reynolds Kitchens® Slow Cooker Liner for easy clean-up.
  • Pork Chops: Boneless pork chops, regular or thick cut; these are often called top loin pork chops. Bone-in pork chops tend to be too big for this recipe unless you overlap them.
  • Potatoes: Use buttery Yukon gold potatoes for this recipe. If you don’t have those, red potatoes are preferred over russet potatoes.
  • Herb Sauce: Salted butter, chicken broth, fresh lemon juice, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper make the sauce for the entire recipe.

Step Five – Sprinkle over the sliced onions.

Recipe FAQs

Can I latch my slow cooker while it cooks with a slow cooker liner?

You do not want to latch the lid with the liner in place while cooking. Though, if the slow cooker is off and you need to transport your dish, you can latch it.

Can I store my leftovers in the slow cooker liner?

You never want to lift the liner out of the slow cooker full of food; it may cause a spill. If you have cooled off your food in the slow cooker and have put the entire insert in your fridge, then yes. Otherwise, the food should be removed from the liner and the food placed in another container to store.

Can I use boneless skinless chicken breasts instead of pork chops?

Yes, this recipe is lovely with chicken too.

Can I use dill instead of Italian seasoning?

Yes! You can use two teaspoons of dried dill instead of Italian seasoning or two tablespoons of fresh.

Does the cooking time change if I use a liner?

No! The cooking time remains the same as if you weren’t using a liner, but your cleanup will be
fast and easy!

should i add more liquid. Ive followed the recipe but the liquid is not covering the pork chops

    1. Sarah Olson says:

The pork will let off juices, there will be plenty as it cooks.

I made this today and it was Wonderful! 4 years post opt for stomach cancer. This was so easy on my pouch. This will be a keeper. My husband really enjoyed it too.

  6. Christie says:

Can you use canned sliced potatoes?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

They will most likey get over done.

  7. mama chubs says:

I set the recipe serving size for 10 and followed the instructions. Unfortunately the potatoes and sauce turned out quite sour. Not sure what I did wrong. The pork though tasted good. Was thinking maybe I can just reduce the amount of lemon juice next time. Looking forward to trying more recipes.

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Yeah, it may have been too much lemon. I’m sorry about that!

  8. Alexandra says:

I wanted this recipe to work. Unfortunately, it required twice the work. After spending seven hours cooking in the slow cooker, the potatoes had to be cooked elsewhere.

    1. Sarah Olson says:

Your slow cooker may cook slower than others. Try the high setting if you ever have a problem like this again. I made it three times, and the potatoes turned out tender. I am really sorry that happened!

  9. Mary Ann says:

Can you sear on the stove to give the chops color before putting in the slow cooker?

    1. Sarah Olson says:

      Yes!

  10. Roberta says:

can you use white wine in this recipe, and if so, do you have a suggestion of type. I like to cook with wine’s.

    Thank you.

    1. Sarah Olson says:

If you use wine in the slow cooker, for instance with this recipe. I would do only 1/4 cup of your favorite white wine — something like chardonnay. And take out some of the chicken broth. The alcohol doesn’t cook all the way out and can be very strong in the slow cooker.
