I am excited to share this recipe for Christmas Coffee with Y’all. It’s a perfect blend of ingredients that is wonderful for serving on Christmas Morning. We make cinnamon rolls and pigs in a blanket, and have this comforting beverage as a choice for the adults! You will enjoy this as much as my family does.

Ingredients for making Christmas coffee on a table.

Key Ingredients

Coffee – I like to use a strong coffee like Starbucks Holiday blend.

Cream – Makes it rich and creamy.

Brown Sugar – Instead of using white sugar, brown sugar adds a caramelized flavor to the coffee.

Festive Spices – I use holiday spices for this one; cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. I also use star anise and cinnamon sticks to garnish the pot.

How to Make Christmas Coffee

  1. Add the coffee, cream, sugar, spices, and vanilla to the slow cooker.
  2. Warm on HIGH until it’s hot and smells like Christmas.

Tips and Variations

Best Results: Don’t use coffee that has been sitting for hours — it will taste stale and too strong.

Flavored Coffee Grounds: It is fun to use a flavored coffee such as Hazelnut, Gingerbread, or Peppermint.

No sugar: You can put the sugar on the side for guests to add themselves instead of sweetening the whole pot.

Other Sweeteners: You can sweeten this up with vanilla syrup, maple syrup, or even honey!

How to Serve Christmas Coffee

Toppings: Serve this holiday coffee drink with toppings options such as whipped cream, red or green sprinkles and cinnamon sticks

Alcohol Option: If desired, you can have boozy options for your guests, such as Bailey’s Irish Cream, Cinnamon Whiskey, or Frangelico liqueur.

How to Store Leftovers

You can pack away the leftover Christmas coffee into an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can reheat on the stove-top or microwave. The leftover coffee is even good cold.

Sarah’s Notes

Stovetop Instructions: Simply heat everything in a stockpot until hot and serve! Don’t let boil.
Adjust: Taste after warmed up and add more cream, sugar or more coffee to your taste. Every batch will taste different depending how strong your coffee is.
Doubling: You can double this if expecting more people. It will easily fit in a 6 quart slow cooker.
