Key Ingredients
This casserole comes together quickly! Find the full recipe in the recipe card below the images.

- Cinnamon Rolls: Skip the homemade step of making your own rolls by grabbing 2 tubes of Pillsbury canned Cinnamon Rolls with original icing. We also use these rolls in our crockpot cinnamon roll casserole. The included frosting is not used in this recipe.
- Apples: I suggest using a couple of fresh Granny Smith green apples.
- Butter: One stick of melted salted butter.
- Seasoning & Spices: Salt, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and white sugar are combined to make a caramel sauce mixture.
How to Make Caramel Apple Cinnamon Roll Casserole
Step One – Spray the slow cooker liberally with non stick spray, or spread butter or oil on the bottom and sides of the slow cooker. Cut the cinnamon rolls into six pieces each. Add to the slow cooker.
Step Two – Add the diced apple to the cinnamon rolls and toss the cinnamon roll pieces and apples together to distribute evenly.

Step Three – In a medium size bowl, add the melted butter, sugars, cinnamon and salt. Mix until combined. This will look like a caramel sauce. Pour over the caramel sauce mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces and apples.
Step Four – Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are set in the middle. Serve warm and enjoy!

My Serving Suggestions
Here is how I like to serve this to my family and guests:
- Drizzle the cinnamon roll apple bake generously with cream cheese frosting. You can also pour extra caramel sauce over the top.
- For a delightful crunch, sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the casserole.
- Pair the warm casserole with a scoop of vanilla ice cream along with a dollop of freshly whipped cream.

Sarah’s Notes
- Store any remaining casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat individual servings in the microwave for a quick fix, or warm larger portions in the oven at a low temperature to preserve the texture.
- While the casserole is best enjoyed fresh, you can freeze leftovers in an airtight container. Reheat in the oven or microwave, and it should retain its deliciousness.
- Tempted to use canned apple pie filling? Fresh apples are best for this recipe. They cook up perfectly with the cinnamon rolls and canned apple pie filling can tend to be overly sweet.

I tried this and the cinnamon rolls were so mushy. Is that how it’s supposed to be?
They are definitely saturated with the sauce. But shouldn’t be mushy
