How to make Olive Garden Chicken Pasta in the Crockpot:
- Add chicken breasts to the slow cooker.
- Pour over one 16-ounce jar of Olive Garden Italian Dressing (or any Italian dressing you have on hand.
- Shake over grated parmesan cheese and ground pepper. Add one block of cream cheese.
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or low for 5-6.
- Shred the chicken with two forks right in the slow cooker.
- Cook 16 ounces of pasta according to the package directions on the stove-top. I am using penne pasta for this recipe.
- Add the drained pasta to the slow cooker along with the sauce and shredded chicken, stir.
- Sprinkle over more parmesan cheese if desired. I also garnished with a touch of oregano and black pepper.
Can I serve this chicken with something other than pasta?
- Serve over rice.
- Or with steamed vegetables.
Must I use cream cheese?
You can leave it out or add a cup of heavy cream at the end of cooking time is desired. Though the sauce will be thinner.
Does this taste like chicken alfredo?
This Olive Garden Chicken Pasta is thick and creamy like alfredo but has a zesty Italian dressing flavor

Do not use the whole bottle. Even half might be too much. I wish I had read the comments before hand. The taste itself isn’t bad and perhaps if you’re used to really strong foods it will be fine, but I usually do not eat dressing so this recipe did not sit well in my stomach. I am ashamed to say this has led me to strain chicken for the first time in my life. Literally the little sauce remaining on the chicken was enough to make a cream-based sauce for my noodles (thankfully I did not add my noodles first, therefore my chicken-straining endeavors was much easier). If you’re contemplating whether listening to the comments is worthwhile, I assure you from personal experience, you will not regret choosing another recipe. Please don’t become a chicken strainer like me
My Friends on makes this and I absolutely love it!!! Never gets old. Thanks So Much.
This is amazing!! My kids and husband all loved it.
Love it and supper easily. Even mom loved it, that is a high honor.
This was awful. Do not recommend. 2 out 10 🙁
My husband asks for this dish for dinner. I have made it several times, as written. It’s delicious!
Definitely don’t use the whole bottle of dressing! It’s way too strong.
Very salty. Would recommend doing less than a bottle.
I made this awhile back for my boyfriends family and we all loved it. It was very delicious.
Do not waste your time…this is aweful. I felt horrible that my kids ate this. I wasn’t hungry when they ate, so i didnt taste it right away. It’s so bad! This isnt a personal shot at the poster, because this recipe is everywhere…its just such a huge let down.
Very nasty comment, I thought it was a really good recipe. But rude Comments like this is ridiculous, if you don’t like it that’s fine but maybe don’t be so rude.
OMG I wants to lick the crockpot lol
Extremely salty and I love salt. The next time I made it I cut the amount of Italian dressing to 1/4 of the bottle.
I have made this a few times, tweaked the recipe bit and it is pretty good. Only used 1/2 bottle of dressing. Added a can of low sodium cream of mushroom soup, 1/4 cup of sour cream, and a sprinkle of garlic powder & onion powder.
This sounds great! I’m going to try it this way.
This is one of our Go- to recipes!! All my friends have started using it too. Yum!
Excellent recepie
