Mix together the brown sugar, tomato paste, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, salsa, apple cider vinegar, and chili powder in a 4-6 quart crockpot until nice and smooth.
Place your pork chops into the crockpot and spoon a layer of sauce over them so that they are completely coated.
Cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 6 hours.
Once cooked completely, garnish with green onion and serve.
Notes
Do I have to use this sauce or can I use store-bought? You could use a store-bought BBQ sauce here instead. Just replace all of the ingredients for the sauce with 2-3 cups of store-bought sauce. This homemade one is super easy, though, and I swear it’s worth it.Can I make this ahead of time and freeze it? Absolutely! Make the sauce and add it to a large freezer bag with the uncooked pork. Store it in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow the pork to thaw in the fridge before layering it into the slow cooker with the sauce. Cook as you normally would. Can frozen Chops be Used?I recommend defrosting your pork chops before cooking. You can also use bone in pork chops or thin cut pork chops.
