Heat a large skillet over medium high heat on the stove top. Add the sliced bacon, cook until crisp. Remove the bacon BUT leave a few tablespoons of the bacon grease in the pan.
Add the diced onion to the pan and cook the onion until lightly browned.
Add the bacon, onion, pinto beans and seasoning to the slow cooker.
Pour over the chicken broth.
Cook on HIGH for 5-6 hours or until the beans are tender.

No chicken broth? Use about 4 chicken bouillon cubes instead - just toss them in.To make the bean broth more creamy, simply mash a small portion of the beans.Add more broth if needed for leftovers.Want to double this! Just add one more hour of cooking.
