In a skillet set to medium high heat, add the butter. When the butter is melted brown the ham and set aside.
If your cream cheese isn't softened yet, you can put it in the microwave for 30 seconds.
In a medium sized bowl add the cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, green chiles, seasonings and browned ham. Stir with a spatula until smooth.
Spray the slow cooker with non stick spray.
Add the dip mixture into the slow cooker.
Cook on HIGH for 2 hours. You will need to stir this dip occasionally while its cooking and while serving during your party.
Serve with cubed french bread and enjoy!

Nutritional values do not include bread.
Transfer any remaining dip to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat over medium low heat until warmed throughout. This dip should not be frozen as it contains sour cream and cream cheese and will not freeze well.
Cooked and crumbled bacon or crumbled sausage can be used instead of ham.
