40cloves garlicthese can range in size! I buy pre-peeled garlic cloves for this
½tsp.salt
¼tsp.pepper
.87oz.chicken gravy packet(I use McCormick)
½cup water(this is all you need for the recipe)
½tsp.dried thyme
Instructions
Set a large skillet to medium-high heat. Add the sliced bacon. Cook until crisp, then remove and drain on paper towels. Drain off most of the bacon grease (except about 2 tablespoons).
Sprinkle the chicken thighs with the salt and pepper. Add the chicken thighs to pan and brown on both sides.
Add the chicken to the slow cooker.
Sprinkle over the bacon, thyme and garlic cloves.
In small bowl whisk together the chicken gravy mix and 1/2 cup of water. Pour over the chicken.
Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or until the chicken is tender.
Notes
Don't be tempted to add more salt, there is plenty of salt in the gravy packet.Only add the amount of water listed; the chicken will produce the extra liquid needed.
