Add the chicken to the slow cooker. Cube the cream cheese or cut it in half and place on top of the chicken.
Sprinkle over the ranch over the chicken. Drizzle over the butter (or chicken broth).
Add the cheese over the chicken and cream cheese.
Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 5-6.
Shred the chicken with two forks. Stir to combine everything together.
Serve on buns with slices of tomatoes if desired.
Notes
If you just so happen to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and place them in the refrigerator. It will keep up to 4 days.
You can use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts if you prefer dark meat.
To use cooked rotisserie chicken, simply follow the directions but cut back on cooking time since the chicken will already be done. You will also want to add a 1/2 more of chicken broth.
