Add the potatoes to the slow cooker in a spiral design if desired.
Sprinkle over the garlic powder, pepper and onion soup mix.
Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the potatoes.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.

Notes
Russet potatoes hold up extremely well in slow cooking conditions; however, if you don't have these on hand, you can also use Yukon gold or red potatoes.
Vegetable oil or any other cooking oil can be used instead of olive oil. You can also use melted butter instead.
