Just found this. Does round or oval slow cooker matter? And does salted or unsalted butter matter? Also no white chocolate chips so I omited. That okay too?

Oval slow cooker slow cooker is best. I like to use salted butter. I think that will be fine without the chips.

I would like to use my fresh boysenberries or satsuma plums, both with a lot of juice when they cook. Can fresh fruit be used this way or is there another type to use with fresh fruit? I have a Instant Pot that I use as a slow cooker

Can this be made with any flavor of cake mix? I was thinking about using apples and a spice mix.

It will be plenty sweet without the chips. That walnuts or pecans would be great in this.

I am wanting to make this Sunday. But, I need to double it. I need it for a party so I don’t want to try it and it fail. Has anyone tried doubling it? Maybe it would be better to do it in the oven. Does anyone have experience with doubling it in the oven? If so, what size pan?

I’m making this now it’s been cooking for 2.5 hrs and doesn’t look like it is setting up chips still and in shape not melted. Should I turn it down to low and cook longer than 3 hrs?
