Easy Slow Cooker Shredded Beef Taco Bar

  • 3-4 lbs. beef chuck roast
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • ¼ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 (1.25-oz.) pkg. mild taco seasoning
  • 1 (16-oz.) jar mild salsa
For Serving
  • shredded lettuce
  • shredded cheese
  • warmed taco shells
  1. Sprinkle the roast on both sides with the onion powder, salt and pepper. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat on the stove-top. Add the oil, when the pan is hot sear the roast on all sides. Place the roast into a 4-quart or larger slow cooker, add the taco seasoning over the roast, and then the jar of salsa.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, without opening the lid during the cooking time.
  3. Shred the meat with 2 forks on a Dixie® paper plate, place the meat, lettuce and cheese on separate Dixie® plates and serve!
